We recently had the chance to catch up with ELN presenter Jim Burgett and ask him a few questions regarding his latest webinar, "Service Changes Everything Part 2: Learning from the Best." 1. How will your webinar benefit educational leaders?

Every school, department, office, district, or classroom is based on the same thing:  providing service.  Think about it.  We provide service to students, to each other, to taxpayers, to parents, to the community, to everyone who walks through our doors, reads our materials, or benefits by our product.  And traditionally we receive little or no training in one thing we do the most - provide service!  This series of webinar focuses on two major topics - understanding what service is, and then some ways to provide not just mundane service, but exceptional (majestic) service.

 

2. How do you see this webinar content impacting student performance in a positive way?  

Meeting the needs of the "customer" in an unforgettable way defines majestic service.   If the customer is a student, and we meet their needs in a way that not only promotes learning, but encourages it, how can we not impact student performance in a positive way?  Providing quality service is as much about providing a climate of exceptional learning opportunities as it is about meeting individual needs.  A true service provider will be an educator who focuses on creating an exceptional learning environment.

 

3. What is one important idea that viewers can take away from this webinar?

Majestic service is not a term, it is a way of life.  It changes everything.  It makes learning meaningful and working at a school exceptional.   It is contagious and extends way beyond the schoolhouse gates.  It becomes a way of life.  It moves attitudes and redefines relationships.  When the participant of this webinar understands the impact of providing majestic service,  the rest is icing on the cake.
